Slack Unveils Slack GPT, Its Vision for Generative AI in Slack

Productivity matters, especially in times of economic uncertainty. To unlock exponential productivity gains, organizations need to empower their teams to save time and focus on strategic work. Slack is not the only company up for generative AI, there are many companies integrating generative AI capabilities in their solutions. Recently Atlassian unveiled Atlassian Intelligence which is integrated with generative AI.

Slack GPT is built on the same foundation as Slack, providing customers with an AI-ready platform to integrate and automate with their language model of choice, whether they use partner-built apps like OpenAI's ChatGPT or Anthropic's Claude or build their custom integration. Slack GPT also includes a set of AI features built directly in Slack, such as AI-powered conversation summaries and writing assistance. Additionally, it has a new Einstein GPT app that lets customers surface AI-powered customer insights from trusted Salesforce Customer 360 data and Data Cloud.

Slack's open, extensible platform lets customers decide when and how they bring AI into Slack. The newly available next-generation platform for developers makes it easy to build something custom, whether bringing their AI model or keeping an integration in-house. Later this year, customers will be able to add generative AI prompts as one of the steps in their workflow using Workflow Builder, Slack's built-in no-code automation tool.

Slack GPT is designed to bring the power of generative AI into the ways customers already work in Slack, making their working life simpler, more pleasant, and more productive. With generative AI built natively in Slack, users will be able to get up to speed on unread Slack messages in one click, tweak their drafts until the words are just right, and uncover AI-powered customer insights grounded in trusted Customer 360 data, right where they're already working with their team.
