Xiaomi set to launch its flagship Xiaomi 13 Ultra with Leica-branded camera worldwide in April

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone giant, has announced that its flagship device, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, will be launched globally in April. The phone is expected to be a powerhouse of performance, design and camera, thanks to its collaboration with Leica, the renowned German optics company.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra with Leica-branded camera worldwide in April

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be the third smartphone from Xiaomi to feature Leica-branded cameras, after the Xiaomi 12S series and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. According to Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun, the phone will sport the "most exceptional Leica Summicron lens yet in mobile imaging", which promises to deliver consistent optical excellence across different lenses from wide to telephoto.

The Leica Summicron lens has a spherical optical design that is said to offer perfect imaging and excellent contrasts. The phone is rumored to have a quad rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and two 50-megapixel telephoto sensors. The front camera is expected to use a 32-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.

But the camera is not the only highlight of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The phone is also expected to pack a punch with its hardware and display. The phone is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is Qualcomm's latest and most advanced processor for flagship devices. The phone may come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.

The display of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is also expected to be stunning, as it may feature a 6.7-inch Samsung LTPO E6 AMOLED panel with QHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The LTPO technology allows the display to dynamically adjust its refresh rate according to the content, which can save battery life and enhance user experience.

The battery of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is also expected to be impressive, as it may support 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone may also have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and run on Android 13-based MIUI 14 out-of-the-box.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to be launched in China by the end of April, and then roll out to other global markets in the following months. The price and availability of the phone are yet to be revealed, but it is expected to compete with other premium flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2023, as it combines cutting-edge technology with elegant design and superb camera quality.
