Apple CEO Tim Cook's Bollywood-style India Visit: Inaugurates First Apple Store in Mumbai
Apple CEO Tim Cook is in India for a historic visit that marks the launch of the company's first two official retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi. The visit also signifies Apple's growing ambitions and commitment for the Indian market, where it has been increasing its local manufacturing, exports, and services.
Cook arrived in Mumbai on Monday 18th April, where he inaugurated the first Apple store in India at the Jio World Drive mall, a premium shopping destination that houses several luxury brands. The store, which spans 20,800 square feet, is one of the largest Apple stores in the world and offers a range of products, services, and experiences for Apple customers.

The opening event was attended by several Bollywood celebrities, who shared their excitement on social media. Cook also met with some of them, including Madhuri Dixit, AR Rahman, Raveena Tandon, and Mouni Roy. He also enjoyed Mumbai's famous street food, vada pav, with Dixit.

Cook also met with the Ambani family, who own Reliance Industries, one of India's largest conglomerates and a key partner for Apple in India. Reliance operates Jio, India's largest telecom operator, which offers affordable data plans and devices for millions of Indians. Jio World Drive mall is also owned by Ambani family.
As we reported in our last post, Tim Cook will also meet Indian PM Narendra Modi during his visit. On Wednesday, April 20, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and deputy IT minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar in New Delhi. He is expected to discuss Apple's plans and initiatives for India with the policymakers.
On Thursday, April 21, Tim Cook will inaugurate the second Apple store in Delhi at the Saket mall. The store will also showcase the latest Apple products and services and offer a range of customer support options .
Tim Cook's visit to India is a significant milestone for Apple and its fans in the country. It shows that Apple is serious about tapping into the potential of the Indian market, where it has a loyal but small customer base.
